22 years of commercial truck financing. Faster than the bank. Carries across dealers.

22 years funding semi trucks for owner-operators, fleet expansion, first-time buyers, used trucks, and prior BK. Strong-credit operators come to us for the speed and the convenience — no bank paperwork shuffle, and an approval that carries across any dealer. Credit-challenged operators come to us because we have programs the dealer's finance company doesn't carry. Either way — real person on the phone, three-minute diagnosis.

Who we fund

  • Strong-credit operators who want the convenience of an experienced equipment-finance specialist instead of the bank paperwork shuffle. App-only, mostly phone and email — no branch visits.
  • Established carriers scaling fleets. Adding truck two, three, or your tenth — we structure it, fast.
  • First-time owner-operators. No fleet history required. We have programs for CDL holders going independent.
  • Buyers of used trucks. Trucks outside the dealer's finance-company age and mileage limits. We have programs that fund older equipment.
  • Buyers with prior BK. Discharged Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 funded all the time.
  • Established carriers with credit hits. 5–15 year operators who hit a rough patch — we know how to work the file.
  • Operators who want one financing relationship across many dealers. Get approved with us once, walk into any lot knowing your number.

How much do you need down for a commercial truck?

The honest answer: it depends on your credit, how long you've been operating, and whether you've financed commercial equipment before. Here are the ranges we're placing right now:

  • $0 down (zero down) — 700+ credit score, 2+ years time in business, and at least 12 months of prior commercial borrowing history (24 months preferred). Manufacturer finance programs and top-tier lenders. We do these all the time.
  • 10% down — 700+ credit and 2+ years CDL experience, but no prior commercial borrowing history yet. Homeownership preferred. Programs built for strong-credit operators who are just establishing their business borrowing history.
  • 20% down — 625–700 credit score. Some startups fit here too if credit is strong. This is a common bucket — a lot of the deals we place fall between 10% and 20% down.
  • 25%–40% down — Below 625 credit score, credit with issues showing, non-CDL startups, startups with a lower score, high-mileage trucks outside normal lending criteria, older equipment, or private-party sales. Still fundable — we structure creatively and place through programs designed exactly for these files.

Every deal is a mix of credit, time in business, equipment age and miles, and cash reserves. We can usually tell you within 3 minutes on the phone which bucket your deal falls into. Call (801) 332-9756 or pre-qualify in 60 seconds.

First-time commercial truck buyer? Here's what to expect

Buying your first 18-wheeler as an owner-operator is a different lending decision than a fleet's second or tenth truck. Here's how we approach it:

  • CDL experience matters more than business credit. 2+ years driving as a company driver or leased-on is the CDL history the startup owner-op programs need to see.
  • Down payment is your leverage. 10% down on an $80K used truck opens more programs than 0 down on a $150K new one. If you're stretching, buy less truck.
  • Authority status changes the deal. Your own MC/DOT versus leasing on to a carrier. Some programs prefer one over the other — we place accordingly.
  • Used trucks fund fine. The dealer's finance company might have a 6-year, 500K mile cutoff. We have programs that go older and higher-mileage — the trade-off is in the down payment and rate.
  • Prior BK doesn't kill the deal. Discharged Chapter 7 (2+ years out) and dismissed 13 fund all the time. New authority + prior BK on the credit typically lands in the 25% down range.

We fund husband-and-wife OTR teams, drivers going independent after a decade at Schneider, and company drivers buying their first sleeper. Whatever the file looks like, one phone call tells you the plan.

Are you an owner-operator?

Most of the truck deals we close are owner-op deals — first-time drivers going independent, established owner-ops upgrading equipment, balloon-payment refinances, multi-truck owner-op fleets, and prior-BK structures. We have a dedicated owner-operator page that walks through each of those deal types and how they fund.

★★★★★

“I worked with Camron Hanna on a financing deal that wasn't easy at all. The amount was high and the approval process was complicated, but he still got it done. I've dealt with other brokers before, and honestly none of them handled things the way he did. Camron stayed on top of everything from start to finish. He explained each step clearly, answered every call and text, and made sure the deal didn't fall apart even when things got tricky. He pushed the process forward and got me an approval. The whole team at Trust Alliance Capital is solid. They're organized, responsive, and you can tell they know what they're doing. It's rare to find a company that actually takes the time to help, especially with bigger and more challenging files. I highly recommend working with them.”
