Logging equipment financing from people who know a skidder from a forwarder.

A second-generation logger replacing a Tigercat skidder before the winter cut. A cut-to-length crew adding a Ponsse harvester and forwarder. A land-clearing contractor financing a horizontal grinder. A log hauler putting a used Kenworth with a loader into service. Forestry is a specialty for several of the programs we place, not an exception they tolerate, and the terms show it.

Who we fund

  • Established logging contractors — conventional and cut-to-length crews replacing or adding iron.
  • Land-clearing and right-of-way contractors — grinders, mulchers, and the excavators and dozers that run with them.
  • Log haulers — tractors, log trailers, and self-loading log trucks.
  • Sawmills and chip operations — loaders, chippers, and yard equipment.
  • Tree-service companies stepping up — from chippers and stump grinders into forestry-grade equipment.

What we finance

  • Skidders and feller bunchers — Tigercat, John Deere, Caterpillar, Weiler, Barko.
  • Harvesters, forwarders, and processors — Ponsse, Komatsu Forest, Deere, Tigercat, with Waratah and Log Max heads.
  • Log loaders and delimbers — Deere, Tigercat, Barko, Prentice, Cat, Serco.
  • Chippers, grinders, and mulchers — Morbark, Bandit, Vermeer, Peterson, Fecon, Diamond.
  • Log trucks and trailers — Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star tractors with Pitts, Magnolia, and Manac log trailers, financed on our truck programs.

Age and hours

Heavy forestry equipment up to about 15 years old with reasonable hours funds on the right program. Chippers and grinders generally 10 years or newer. Log trucks follow the Class 8 age caps. Skip-payment schedules for spring break-up and wet-season shutdowns are available on strong files.

How much down

The ranges below are reference points so you know roughly where a file lands — they are not a rate sheet. We review every situation individually, and once we've seen your file we'll tell you exactly what the down payment is.

  • Established business, 700+ credit, prior commercial financing paid as agreed: low or zero down is on the table.
  • Established business, strong credit, first commercial financing: around 10% down.
  • Established business, credit in the 600s: plan on 15% to 25%.
  • New business: this equipment holds its value, so a startup with a lower score can be considered — the down payment follows the personal credit score, up to 40% for weak credit.

Every file is reviewed on its own merits. Time in business, bank statements, the specific equipment, and comparable credit all move the number — the tiers above are where files usually start, not where they have to end.

What we don't finance

  • Auction purchases
  • Private-seller purchases
  • Glider trucks
  • Repairs to existing equipment
  • Refinances of current loans (cash-out refi on free-and-clear equipment only — call for details)

Frequently asked

Do you finance loggers, or is forestry on the restricted list? We finance loggers. Some lenders restrict forestry; the ones we place logging deals with treat it as a core industry.

Seasonal payments? Yes. Skip-payment schedules for spring break-up and wet-season shutdowns are available on strong files.

Is there an age limit? Heavy forestry equipment up to about 15 years old with reasonable hours funds on the right program. Chippers and grinders generally 10 years or newer.

Do you finance used forestry equipment from a dealer or auction? Through a dealer, yes — invoice, serial number, and an inspection. We do not finance private-party purchases; equipment bought at auction with cash can be refinanced afterward through our cash-out program.

How fast? Approvals in 24 to 48 hours on application-only files, funding in 3 to 5 business days from a complete application.

★★★★★

“Trust Alliance Capital helped me get financing for a dump truck when I had a previous bankruptcy on my record. Spencer worked hard to find me a program that fit my situation and got me back on the road. I am very grateful for their help and would recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.”

★★★★★

“I have been in commercial truck sales since 1998 and have dealt with multiple finance companies over the years. I have been working with Spencer at Trust Alliance Capital for about 6 years now. Trust Alliance is my only alternative finance company in the industry. Spencer is absolutely the most personable and responsive person I have ever dealt with. Thanks for all you do.”
